That is the question!
I happened to spend a Saturday afternoon drinking coffee with a friend of mine who happens to be a Filipino woman in her early thirties; a divorcee, independent, career driven, no kids.........and prefers to date white men only.
The conversation started with her asking me if I was dating anyone. By the way, I am also Filipino, in my early thirties, have a successful career, never been married and just recently got off a three year relationship. If you must know my ex-girlfriend was white.
She wanted to know why I am not dating a Filipino woman. My answer was that my ex caught my eyes and I didn't really think about whether she was white, Filipino, Latino, etc. The thing that turned me on about my ex was the mutual interest we had when we first met each other.
I asked my friend if she was dating anyone. And she said yes, and that her boyfriend is white. And she went on to say that she will never date a Filipino guy; also stated that she was once married to one.
She told me that white guys are more loving, caring, and able to give them the love that Filipino men can't...Being Filipino myself, my ex has always told me that I was the most caring, loving, adventurous, and attentive guy she was lucky to have for 3 years. So instead of pulling my hair and trying to understand what my friend meant, I took a trip back to memory lane and into my college days where I took a class on Asian experience in American society. This is what I have found out regarding interracial dating:
1) Asian women (Filipino) traditionally come from a society/upbringing where the men wear the pants in the family. Decisions are made by the father/males. The women are subservient and docile and have no say in any decision making processes. Typically a chauvinistic family background. Asian women do not like this at all.
2) Once ingrained in American society, Asian women begin to realize the opportunities presented to them that they were deprived of in their cultural background; 1) Decision-making, 2) Career choices, 3) Social success, and 4) Economic success.
3) With numbers 3 and 4 strongly enforced as a part of their new-found life in American society, they slowly but surdating game questions for menely begin to branch out of their "oppressed" upbringing and start dating Caucasian men. They feel that doing so will give them the economic and social success, happiness, and prosperity that eluded them while growing up in their culture. OF COURSE, THERE MUST BE LIKE/LOVE, OR INTEREST IN ONE ANOTHER. At the same time couldn't an Asian (Filipino) woman gain economic and social sucess from an Asian, Latin, Black man, etc.? Nowadays, success knows no colors.
That's all I remember from my college course, but I realize that new reasons have arisen the past couple of years.
I didn't really think about it much, but since interracial relationships between Asian women (Filipino) and white men seem widespread in American society, what is the reason for it?
-ASIAN (FILIPINO) WOMEN WANT TO ESCAPE THEIR OPPRESSIVE UPBRINGING?
-DATING ONLY WHITE MEN WILL GIVE THEM THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC STATUS NOT AVAILABLE TO THEM BEFORE?
-WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN ORDER FOR "AMERICANIZED" FILIPINO WOMEN TO GIVE FILIPINO MEN AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN THE DATING GAME?
I always thought that once ASIANS, or any other culture for that matter, are deeply ingrained in American society, the chauvinism/machismo acquired from their cultures get bred out of them.
And come to think of it, why is economic and social success so important to Asian (Filipino) women that would warrant them wanting to date white men in the first place?
FILIPINO WOMEN, HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS TOPIC (I WAS OVERWHELMED AND FILLED WITH A LOT OF QUESTIONS AFTER HAVING SIMPLE CUP OF COFFEE ONE SATURDAY AFTERNOON).
Siguro she is so panget! Not all filipino wants white guy. Well it depends on their relationship or the location probably. Lot of filipina somewhere in Pampanga and Ermita would like to be with foreigners not because of the social economic status; they don't know that it's only because they are attracted to white men if you know. Sometimes I asked my foreigner friends why they don't like pretty and educated girls they answered this way "Well beautiful girls and educated are hardheaded" You get what I mean? I am not against white men but the way you says is that fidating game questions for menlipino women future is only best for white men. I am not in favor of your 1, 2, 3 and 4. All I know is that filipina married to white men is sometimes has no choice but for the future to go out of poverty; this is in Philippines. And not all filipinas neither loves white guys to marry all the time. So it depends on the situation. And not all filipinas married to white guys are happy. No offense, this is a filipina way of thinking here in Manila.
I have a filipino friend who married a white man 4 yrs ago. I asked her why did she marry him after seeing them distant most of the time. She said he has money and laughed.The money he gave to her, she sent it back to her family. I think most filipinos think white men are richer than other races.

Anyway I don't agree with OP, Filipina tend to be bossy and moody. They typically don't like white guys. I am not attracted to 99% of Filipina women mainly due to their bad attitude but also their looks don't help.

You can't lump all Filipino women into one category!! What is your problem anyway? That is like saying all people eat meat!! Everyone is different! If you want more respect act like it. You have a choice whether to act chauvinistic or not.
