espn top baseball playersESPN's Top 100 Baseball Players of the Decade......what do you think?
Who are 3 players you think should be in and 3 players that should be out that are already in? Or more if you'd like.....
Thanks.
I'm not thrilled with the list, it seems some players were just thrown in to fill it.
Players who should be out:
Corey Koskie? Come one now, there are innumerable players who should be on that list before him.
Barry Zito? He may have had a few decent seasons, but he hasn't been top 100 the last 3 years.
Jose Valentin? Although not terrible, a career BA of .240 and his best season .273 just doesn't sit well with me in the top 100.
Players who should be in:
Prince Fielder-his debut in 2005 should be more than enough time to have him make this list, not to mention the skills he has.
Ryan Howard-I had to look twice to find him
Ben Sheets-yes, he's injury prone, but can't deny a career ERA of 372 when I see others (like Zito) who are higher
Where is Alfonso Soriano? How many other players went 40-40 in the past decade? He did it once and almost did it three other times. In the decade he averaged 25 SBs, and hit almost 300 HRs. He definatly should have been there. Also, as someone already mentioned, Mariano Rivera should have been higher, he was the most dominant relief pitcher.
No idea why Bondespn top baseball playerss is so high. He missed the last 2 years because he's a lying cheater. Jeter should be above him and A-Rod. A-Rod should be in the top 10 but not 2nd. I like that Andy Pettitte was placed 50th, he should get recognized for the most wins this decade.I have no idea why Posada was so high though, I never even saw him being on the list let alone in the top 30!!! Same thing with Damon, surprised to see him on the list let alone the top 40!!!
Other than i think that Rivera should be higher i think this list wasn't bad. I will agree with your choices on who should be in that list. I would also add Prince Fielder as someone who should be in even though he hasn't been in the game long. As for who should be thrown out i will say Kelvin Escobar, Kenny Rogers & as much i know some people will disagree with me i will ad Barry Zito to that list( A major disappointment the last few years.)
It's ridiculous to have a top 100 players list for a single decade. The all century team didn't have 100 guys on it...it only had 30.
I understand it's not an "all decade team", but 10 years is far too short a time period to compile a top 100 list.
How the hell is Ryan Howard not on this list? He was rookie of the year, followed that up with an Mespn top baseball playersVP season. He has more home runs and rbi's than anyone in baseball since the day he had his first MLB at bat. He's the fastest ever to 100 hrs and the fastest ever to 200 hrs.
Out: Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens --- STEROIDS!
Also, why in the heck is Corey Koskie and Brad Radke on there!!! Who are they?
IN: Yaaaaa, I know its for the decade but come on, no Ryan Howard, no Prince Fielder, no Tim Lincecum, you're kidding right!
I don't know about who to add onto the list but I know who shouldn't be on the list
Roger Clemens - The steriods sadly
Barry Bonds - Same reason, the 70+ HR season was too good to be true without help
Jose Valentin - He only had good years with the White Sox
Paul Konerko, Adrian Gonzalez, and Ryan Howard should be in
Jamie Moyer, Kelvim Escobar, and Randy Winn should be out
I don't like this list. Where's Ryan Howard or Justin Morneau? Teixeira should be higher on the list. Mo deserves to be in the top 15 if not better. JD Drew does not belong there.
So they have Kelvim Escobar on the list but no Ryan Howard. What!?
