What I mean by that question is, if you learn how to develop and create software on a computer, can you use that knowledge to develop software on devices other than computers (Examples: Software for video game consoles like PS3's, Wii's, and Xbox's; Handhexamples of computer softwareeld Portable Devices like tablets, phones, ipods, PSP's)? Or is that knowledge specifically only for computers?
Knowing how to program is pretty universal. Moving to new platforms is not that bad since most programming languages are high level (abstracted examples of computer softwarefrom the hardware).
In my opinion almost all programs in computer engineering or computer science tend to focus on programming for a regular microprocessor even though by far the majority of computers in existence are embedded.
