norton antivirus xpIs Norton Antivirus good for my HP laptop with windows xp?

I am looking for good free antivirus software for my HP 520 laptop. Is norton antivirus good enough for windows xp?
What about its facilities of updating?
all security programs except microsoft security essentials will slow your pc down , here's the deal you can get some of them free, but fo
Look im a computer tech and i hate big corporations myself but you need a good antivirus program these days. Ones that are free rarely provide real time protection which means the only time its going to let you know when you have a virus is when you scan and by then it can be too late. Norton is a good antivirus program it provides real time protection if something tries to get it it will block it 99% of the time. Others are good too Webroot antivirus Panda, but trust me buy one. I have a webpage that i keep up to date deals and specials on antivirus. www.beachboycomputers.com check it out you can get a good deal for great protection
If you have a HP 520 Notebook but it is not pre loaded with windows it is coming with free dos and
the best antivirus you can use (Quick Heal with internet Secnorton antivirus xpuirity) because this antivirus is not give unsessory massegs and you have seen another anitivirus give unessory poppup so it is the best in Windows XP..
Norton Is a Nightmare!! If you are wanting an Excellent FREE Edition Anti Virus Download ThreatFire the following link can provide you a rating & rundown of this program as well as Download from Trusted Site CNET.

I have used (THREAT-FIRE Free Edition) for many years an found this to have kept my PC safe without slowing my pc down. Highly Recommend. P.S Stay away from AVG Free edition it use to be good but I had a lot of trouble getting this program off my system and picked up 2x Trojans while this program was installed an had to Re-Format my system after UN-installing.
I use either of these two programs, Avast or Adaware. I have purchased both. Both have found items on webpages and Avast has caught many download files and will stop the download. Also what I do is I use Firefox as my main browser and get these addon's called, NoScript, FlashBlock norton antivirus xpand AdBlock Plus. Using these 3 addon's have saved me many times from click jacking viruses and rootkit viruses.
norton really slows down your system..... it will screw the speed... if u r using original windows then go for microsoft SECURITY ESSENTIALS.... its exteremely light and works great.... it validitates the genuinity of windows on the installation.. much better than other antivirus....
norton will bog down your computer REALLY BADLY. it runs constantly in the backround and slows your computer down so much.

if you want a free virus program try AVG or commodo
(these wont bog your computer down)
NO. I have had many problems with norton. It is very slow and there are better ones out there. I have Vipre Antivirus it gets rid of the virus and stops them from coming up,
Norton Antivirus will slow down your computer and cannot protect your computer perfectly. So you can use some free antivirus programs like nod32 avg
Please avoid NORTON. Its horrible.
Better go for AVAST, free and very safe. (Based on my own experience.)
